I keep/kept steam and all other social media separate. My steam friends are just that; steam friends. I have never met nor communicated with any of them off platform. My real life friends dont play games on PC. Most everybody I know has a console and only playing cod, fifa, madden and other sports and racing games. The e-mail and account name I used were disassociated from any real life name. The only way, that they could've found out who I was, was by pulling my payment info. Now I dont know what access steam employees have to payment processing info. But I believe that this employee may have worked in steam support.
Today, I am a lot smarter. On my other account. I only bought games through steam cards that I always bought in cash. Never let the retailer have my phone numbers either, just in case. And honestly picking fights with people on the internet is no substitute to actually beating them up in person.
🤣
I'm going in blind here i cant even find where it says to add your real name...
is this a troll comment because there are enough responses to show
a few people care enough to respond to the op...
your response is proven to be factually incorrect

Wanted to advice to clueless player that didn't know this happens and use the forums regularly, the fact that it stays in the first page even after some hours probably helped some users that didn't know about this (And yes, those players exist). If you think this is clickbait and want to express your opinion, good for me, that makes you comment and make this post stay in the top
Oh btw, thanks to the person who invested in 10% of the cost of my new profile background. Further investments would much appreciated by the same person or others with the same thoughts.💸

If someone was to identify, and/or sharing private information about someone that be dox.
If you're telling everyone your name, and private information about yourself to the public, that is not doxing. Steam isn't doxing anyone either, as what you put on your profile is what seen by others, just like Facebook, twitter, or etc... If you don't want to share real name, or private info on profile, don't add it to your profile that others can view it.
