Rendering/Unrendering models

Hi. I am trying to figure out how to render/un-render models where the model disappears but the bones remain. I found out in a tutorial by Zachariah Scoot's Bad Medicine particle tutorial that showed a render/un-render option when you right-click the model hierarchy but when I tried doing the same thing the render option wasn't there. The render option is found within the section that has a hidden option. How do I enable the render option for SFM models? Here is a link to the tutorial. Can someone please help me?
