Keep in mind, this is a two strikes and you're out system - this is strike one - they can ban you from refunding permanently. The third time you trigger the system it'll be permanent. Don't just buy games to demo them. Do your research and be sure you'll enjoy it before buying.
Edit: You should be able to ascertain how you got here, and how to avoid it in the future, by just looking at your past behaviour and altering that.
ok thanks. i was just worried because most of the threads i could find on steam and reddit were just talking about the warnings, and very few about actually being denied because of them.
Another thing. Even if we google the game, look at the images, look at the videos, look at whatever we are supposed to look at, we need to play the game to know if we like it or not.
Maybe Steam has to come out with a rule about how many games can we refund in how long a period of time. For example, Steam could say "5 games refund in a period of 3 months" so every 3 months, I will buy 5 games then since its the rule ...
the time spent on it accumulates...
so if its over 2 hours and 2 weeks previously... no more refunds as welll...
They're not going to give you a specific time, because people will just refund to the limit and then complain when that's reached. Before the refund system was properly implemented people complained they "just wanted the option", now it's "I want to play X hours before I refund!".
As for the technical issues, if you only refund games which have actual issues and sparingly use the manual system - you'll be properly covered and you should never trigger the refund limit. If you refund enough games to trigger the warning because they don't run properly on your system, it's time to investigate why that is and stop buying games.
Sounds like you are abusing the refund system dude.
Did you get more than 1 refund warning or what? I assume they would let you know if you couldn't refund anymore.
and as Bee said, it's a 2-strike system. first you get warnings, then the first denial, then banned. i'm just going to stop refunding from now on anyway because i really don't want to lose the ability.
Edit: Because there's a very important distinction between a cooldown and a ban in the wording. The text will tell you exactly what you have.
