There is no such thing as "pending bans" or "duplicated items".

appreciate the help.
as a former moderator i can confirm
i was a moderator on a minecraft server for a long time , and the only times we gave someoen a time to do something was if we caught someone griefing a bit ( breaking into a house by breaking 2 blocks , then you would normally first pm them to repair it and if he does so and apologizes , its usually fine with a small note on the staff forum that he broke into a house but fixed the damage
but if it happened again , it would be a ban
but for any other offense , there was no "you have X minutes or else you get banned, sometimes we waited to see how far someone would go with begging but at that point it was already decided in the ingame staff only chat that he gets banned , and at most one moderator asked him if he ignored the server rules or something
one example is "dont ask to become a moderator , and dont annoy staff about it" and then we had users come in first time , ask "is the owner online" and 9/ 10 times that resulted in a ban , however , the question in its own wasnt banable , if i was the only staff member on right now i asked "no , hes not , what do you need? " and even if someone would go "i dont talk with you i only want to talk with the owner , i generally said , okay ,you can wait and see if he happens to come online later" unless someone started cursing , or griefing i didnt ban them , moderators rarely ban you on a minor thing ,and especially not give you a time limit for you to do stuff
the only time a moderator might give you time , is if they could ban you but want to give you a 2nd chance , on steam however ,theres no reason for a moderator to do that , the rules are self explanatory , you agree to them when making the account , and while doing things on the forum you shouldnt do isnt as bad as cheating , you still get increasingly bigger timeouts , for cheating i think its good to not allow it at all

minecraft or other games, it still stays mostly the same across games , enforcing rules is the same in a steam forum and a minecraft server , and in both the moderator needs to be able to stay calm even when someone is acting rude , the only difference is that the minecraft server had 50 player slots while steam is quite a bit bigger
