So is having sex with college girls considered more offensive than♥♥♥♥♥♥
So I heard "My Girlfriend", a college dating game has recenetly been banned because uhhh... I guess College is too much like High school or something https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:2_6tIbuENCoJ:https://store.steampowered.com/app/467690/My_Girlfriend/+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=uk&client=firefox-b-d

Even though either these girls are clearly and unmistakably adults or their putting some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stuff in children's food. Like holy♥♥♥♥♥♥if a teenage girl looks like that I'd suggest they stop drinking so much milk or they'll end up with back pain problems down the line.

but Lady Killer in a Bind has♥♥♥♥♥♥scenes {LINK REMOVED} but thats not as offensive as conseual sex with college girls.

Yay? I don't care about either game I just want to understand whatever moon logic is going on

Then they should have clear guidelines and not be wishy washy about every decision like this.
They dont want games with "child exploitation" on their website?
Fine then EXPLAIN what the criteria for that are.
I can show at least a dozen games you can buy on the store with characters that look far younger then those in this banned game.
Whats the difference that allows those games with sexual content and not this one?

Give us CLEAR guidelines. The way its right now is just pure confusing for anyone involved.

The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

There's always the human decision element. What you're wanting is black and white rules, but no such thing can realistically exist.
Nightlight Mar 17, 2019 @ 5:06pm
Maybe it was banned for a reason other than its sexual content? That's all I can think of.
Washell Mar 17, 2019 @ 5:07pm
They also (recently) banned stuff because (the) developer(s) was/were gaming the review system. Not all of the disappearing games are banned on their content.

Yeah sorry, that is a weak excuse. There must be some kind of rules and directions about what is allowed and what not.
You cant make these things a personal decision by whoever is accepting new games that day on the Steam staff.
That is no way to run a company. Give us clear guidelines what Steam considers "child exploitation" and what kind of games they dont want on the store with that content.
That cant be that hard.

I am all for Steam deciding they dont want this content on their store, its their decision.
But then dont let half of these games through and the other half gets banned/not accepted.
That makes no sense.

yea steam needs to set clear guidelines for the people making decisions because its pretty clear that right now valve is in total anarachy and whether or not a game gets approved just depends on the personal feelings of the reviewer like OP said there are plenty of games on steam right now way more ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up then my girlfriend. i dont know WTF is going on at valve but its clear that someone needs to step up into a leadership role and start setting actual ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rules for the employees to follow cuz this is getting ridiculious i mean i cant buy this game but ppl can go buy other more ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up VN's not to mention the clear double standard in our society where mass murder in video games is ok but heaven forbid a nipple shows up and everyone loses there fking minds

Does anyone think any of the girls in the trailer looked anything like children or even teenagers? Unless their putting way too many growth hormones in food today. Like I wouldn't be surprised if the black chick was actually a teacher

I honestly think the problem are the school uniforms. The characters themselves do not look underage at all but several of them wear school uniforms ( which is not unusual in Japan up to a age of 20-21 depending on education path).
And Steam seems to follow the "school uniform = child = child exploitation = banned" logic.

I remember a post by another publisher on steam who only brings out hentai games that they had to alter a game to exclude a character in school uniform. They basically got told that if the game was a fantasy or whatever setting it would have been fine, but with a school setting that character would not pass.

I'm going to try and put this into a brief understandable language.

The world is going this way, every word / picture any form of media has become suggestive.
The main cause is the world wide internet access.
Everyone from anywhere any age now has access.
Since this open access to everything on the internet was never monitored as a result exploitation of theft / blackmail / dubious markets / traders / hackers on and on was adopted very quickly. .

The devices pushed out into the markets before being tested for safe internet use just added fuel to the fire for hackers and exploitation.
Users need to be educated.
But the majority don't listen or don't care have the attitude it's not my problem.

Then the web hosts decided to start using sniffers / automated programs designed and used to collect data usage and stats to decide what is appropriate and what is not on a global scale rather than individually..
It is Valve's legal obligation to administer and act on these results according to the laws it must also follow and which most of don't really know about.
VAC is one example.

Then its not about what you think.

I do want to know specifically who hates the schoolgirl uniform. That's some funny ♥♥♥♥.

It would be nice if banned games had an exterminatus notice in the former place of the game, so people can know what the guidelines for removal were, or if it's just a dev who tried to play the system and wants to use it as an excuse.

I'm not asking for hard line black and white clarification.
Kartoffelsuppe Mar 17, 2019 @ 6:40pm
It's the setting that's problematic, at least that's what Valve told the devs and what the devs wrote in their forum to users.

from the kickstarter:
The game follows a male protagonist after he asks out one of the most popular girls in class, who also happens to be a model and an actress. By some crazy twist of fate, the unbelievable happens and she says yes, catapulting you into a strange new world of jealously, limelight, lust and some crazy shenanigans.

dev quote:
It is a lesson learned and I will probably not make any school/college games any more just to make sure that this does not happen again, at least not for steam.

I agree if a game is removed for some reason or another that there would be a legitimate reason in clear guidelines and not pull the youtube guideline crap of being vague and non definitive.

In this case art is being censored due to hypocrisy even though the terms as they have listed are met. It's clearly not fully unbiased.

It may not be in this case but what about the art of a different culture that uses the platform? Is Valve going to force Western Cultures rules and regulation on them or is Valve which has a platform used world wide not going to abide by the laws of different cultures. Sony forcing Western Ideas on Eastern developers is ridiculous and this is the same. It's the base principle.
It's a question for the future but Sony as an example is clearly forcing themselves on another culture and will the same happen here if it hasn't already.
