I got banned from CoD Modern Warfare 2 Beta and also Warzone for no reason and found out why

I got banned and now I just found out why, I think it will help other people from getting banned for the same reason as me.

They said it was for unauthorized software and the software is a cpu limited software. If you are using a cpu limiter software stop using it.

Warzone 2.0 is coming out and I hope no one gets banned for no reason. I am also hoping I don't get banned, I am going to make sure my cpu limiter software is not running when I play Warzone 2.0. If you have it running you will get banned after 1 online game so remember to turn it off.

Also the cpu limiter program I was using is called Process Lasso.

You state "no reason" yet provide a reason...

Also there are other reason to be banned from the beta other than what you are stating, one of those being cheating which typically i find that those who cheat attempt to convince others of another reason for the ban, ie cpu limiting software.

He said "no reason and found out why." and goes on to give more detail.

A CPU limiter doesn't get an advantage over anyone. In fact, it would probably be more of a disadvantage than anything.

EAC doesn't discern actual cheat software from anything running outside on a certain level.

This CPU limiter software is intended to tweak background process priorities to give the foreground process better CPU priority. This in theory shouldn't trip anti-cheat programs, but if the anti-cheat has a background service running (I know EAC is a kernel-mode anti-cheat, not sure if it has a user-mode control node) starving said process of CPU cycles could raise a red flag, especially if the game process is hogging so much CPU that the anti-cheat service can't answer its checks.

Personally, with an i7-12700K and Windows 11, I'm just letting the OS scheduler do its thing without overriding any priorities.

nope. nothing that program does is against any tos

if it were, every single overclocked cpu and gpu would get people banned, seeing as how you use a program to do it and it gives an advantage

What other processes and drivers were running? Was anything hooking or debugging your game process? Proces Lasso only adjusts settings already exposed by the Windows OS. If a game developer bans Process Lasso, then it's between you and the game developer, not Valve.

I don't have that many processes running when I play games, Process Lasso and a fan controller software and temperature monitor software is all that was running.

And VAC is user-mode yet catches all sorts of "innocent" cheaters too.

I had to disable this to play Overwatch 2 and it might be some thing that got me banned by a Anti-Cheat maybe.

A filter called PROCMON24 and I had to disable it or turn it off by using this shutdown command shutdown /r /f /t 0.

I hope it does not happen with Warzone 2.0.

Note you're very much rehasing the old cheater handbook of 'throw every possible program at the wall and hope no one notices people use these programs all the time and somehow dont get banned'
