Steams logg in without password since recent update
At first i had to autentificate via mail and code and now it loggs in just clicking the item. But i still want to write my password. How can i deactivate it? I could not find an option to go back to old way.

That means you already logged in with "Remember me" checked, at least once.
After starting Steam, you'll need to manually log back out and you'll get the sign in window back.
Then you can log back in after unchecking the "Remember me" box.

The log out link is hidden in the dropdown menu below your profile pic on the top right of the client: Profile -> Log out of account.

i complained about the same issue! it turns out that the recent steam update forces the "REMEMBER ME" option in the login screen to be checked by default!

WHY OH WHY did steam feel it necessary to force this change is beyond me, but from now on if you dont want steam to auto login to your account, you have to remember to uncheck that box before you login. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ steam.

The QR code and the automatic login may be a means to get you in the habit of passwordless logins.

So if i deactivate Steam Guard i have to sign in typing my pw always? I dont mind if i have to verify myself sometimes via mail. But i doubt logging in without entering pw is really safe.

And if i deactivate Steam Guard i cant use the marketplace anylonger. What kind if blackmail is that? I just want to enter my pw instead of bein autologged by steam. I can care for my pw. I dont trust steam that much at all!

Is "steam.exe -noreactlogin" is a good work around? And how will it work? I really want the old ui back. The "old fashioned" one where i have to enter my pw always.

Having to type your password or not, depends on that little "Remember Me" checkbox at the bottom of the login window.

In the old UI, it was turned off unless you chose to turn it on.
In the new UI, it turns Remember Me on, automatically, every time you launch Steam.

Which means you have to actively turn Remember Me OFF, every single time you run Steam.

(I'm using the "-noreactlogin" thing. Works great, gave me back the old login UI. At least until they break that with some future update.)

But i dont have a checkbix at the beginning. I doubleclick at symbol and steam starts without asking for name nor pw. And before i did not activated it too.
How can i actively turn it off?

I'm surprised that's even working for people. Checked or not, the new login prompt never remembers me. The old one did. Which was what I wanted. But this new one? Nope.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
