So im kinda pissed about the steam deck
Got mine yesterday, its great and all, but frankly one of the biggest draws for me ( and yes i should have checked this ) Is that i cant play 2 different games at once....Now thats not something i would do a lot, however I play Eve online and there are plenty of semi passive activities i can do in that game while i could be playing something else on my steam deck.

Now in this case im just going to remove eve from steam and redownload a stand alone version.

But the point is **** you . My games, my steam deck I want access to them on both my systems.

Oh but then someone might use it to have a friend play with them.....maybe, not me cause i play video games to avoid people, and wouldnt want someone touching my ♥♥♥♥. but thats also a easy fix, you cant have 2 copies of the same game running thats fair, "if i only own one". But if i wanna buy 2 coppies and run one on steam deck and one on my pc? then once again **** you its mine let me do what i want.

But you should not be controlling what i do I am quite tempted to return this thing. Its made me surprisingly mad

That limitation was in place years before Valve even started developing the SteamDeck.
That way you can't easily share accounts between multiple people or simply rent out games.
Yes, this is normal.

You aren't buying a game on Steam, you are buying a right to use a license.

Then thing is the steam deck is already registered to my account , easy enough for them to limit it to my pc and steam deck, regardless Im tired of companies telling me what i cant do with the things i own. Cant wait for NFT gaming to take off, sick of not properly owning ♥♥♥♥.

Lol. NFTs will change nothing and Steam has outright banned them.

Wow, this topic started low and went downhill rather fast.

playing two games at once lol... why would anyone want to do this?... besides the security reasons behind this limitation, why tax your resources unnecessarily?... just pick a freakin' game for cryin' out loud...:-)

It isn't being fans, those are literally the terms you agreed to when making an account.

You can always go into offline/airplane mode.

That is a big issue then. Even in desktop mode? Glad I canceled my reserve back in July. Would not have worked for my purposes.

Yes, the same rules apply to any other device that uses Steam - it's always been this way.

Nope. I can run multiple games on my PC desktop. And software from Steam.

Because it's the same computer. Not two separate computers.

Again, it has been a thing since Steams creation.

Maybe a compromise for Steam Deck owners is to allow them to register -one- computer to be allowed to play games at the same time as the Steam Deck? And you can only change the registered computer once or twice a year, to be sure this feature won't be abused and used for account sharing.
