Even when we request it deleted Steam just hides it and you can get it back.
Backup your saves and just install the new edition it will appear beneath old version.

Removing the game to purchase a edition with more content is fine.
You can even purchase the same exact game again. The old license will reactivate. That is all.
But it took all my screenshots from Skyrim older
They are not the same game. They are 2 completely different games. You can't upgrade Skyrim to Special Edition. 1 is 32-bit and the other is 64-bit. I got SE free when it was released for owning the original Legendary Edition. If you own both, both will show up.
I see thanks :)
Wouldnt that apply here as well?
Deleting a game to buy another version as OP asked??
No. Because you would not need to get rid of the original. They are 2 completely different games with separate store pages.
There is no upgrade for Skyrim. Think of the SE as a remaster like Metro and Metro Redux.
No. All data will still be there. Only the in-game content will change. It will tell you this when you go through the deletion.
It was mentioned as opposite of what could be done with the game on their client.
Dont find the section where it said, only the uplay version can be upgraded. But still find the "easiest way to upgrade is by getting ingame currency" bit.
Also the starter edition gives now 2x3 operators, instead of 2.
