Sure, there are probably policies in play that disallows public statements about banned titles (unless there's a public outcry, I guess).
Valve's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stance regarding which games are allowed on steam. "With that principle in mind, we've decided that the right approach is to allow everything onto the Steam Store, except for things that we decide are illegal, or straight up trolling...".
The games I mentioned arguably aren't "straight up trolling".
Maybe some illegal stuff in the game?
IIRC there is an attempted ♥♥♥♥ scene. That must be the reason why right?
Well, this game (https://store.steampowered.com/app/611790/House_Party/) allows you to drug and ♥♥♥♥ others...
Maybe some loli stuff then?
Well (https://store.steampowered.com/app/1631080/HoneySelect2Libido_DX/) allows you to create your own little loli (:.
And you downplay the inconsistency. When you straight up can Google "steam visual novel inconsistent." and news outlets like "TheVerge.", "Kotaku." and even "Yahoo." pops up. you'll also notice other Steam forum posts regarding Steam's apparent inconsistency.
EDIT: Added "pops up"
IMSHO public pressure has influenced inconsistent decisions in the past.

'Apparent' is the operative word here. As in giving the appearance of.
We only really hear from the dev/pubs side and these people, are as likely to bend the truth as any other human if they feel it will make them money or make them look good. They know Valve is more or less too professional to blab abbout otherwise private matters and dealings in the public forum.
All I'm saying is we're hearing rather vague statements from the publisher.
I don't like or justify their decisions or expect them to answer to anybody.
His speculations are nothing in front of facts that people bring him in this topic (steam app is obviously banned). He just want to tell everyone that he able to think not like everyone else
Valve DIDN'T ban the game, the devs DECIDED not to release it because of the issues valve pointed out. So maybe go ask those devs what changes they didnt want to make, because they clearly KNOW what Valve ruled against.
Crying that they aren't consistent and that the devs "didn't have it explained" is gaslighting in the first degree.
The devs got told EXACTLY why it wasn't allowed as is and THEY are the ones not telling YOU. Maybe it's time to wonder WHY they aren't telling you.
