How to download files from a subversion repository?
I noticed some mods are only maintained in a repository online. Even when I have access to said repository without needing credentials, I have no idea how to actually access and download the files. I've read you need to download a software program that "checks out" (usually using a .bat file) or unpacks the files. Would anyone have any suggestions and explain step by step how to do that?

SVN is just one brand of "Version Control Software"
You can download svn.exe from the internet (just make sure its not a virus)
svn -c https://urlToRepository/Project C:\projectGoesHere\
That should do it.
To grab updates svn pull (or something). I use hg and git so my svn is a bit rusty.
once you have the files I guess copy/paste them to the correct game directory(careful not to replace any important files)
Thats probably all there is to it. Usually though there's a README.TXT file floating around. You should probably read it before "installing" the mod into your game.
