Do you work in real life for free? Why do you expect a game developer to work for free if you don't.

Best case scenario is to buy a bundle(West Coast or Enchantment) when the game is on sale to save money.

Free? What liberal world do you live in? I think we are not allowed to go political in this forum, but you must be "one of them" - Wanting to cash in on someone else's hard work.

Could Steam make it free? Absolutely. Should they? Absolutely not. This is a business. If you like something, pay for it. I'm broke, too. That's why I spend my money making money so I won't be broke in the future.

My favourite game of all time is so cheap that it may as well be free, considering I've got thousands of hours into it, it's like 10 hours per cent spent.

Actually, that would be the publisher's decision, not Steam/Valve.

Well yes, but technically no. As far as I know(which isn't much), there is no license agreement between Publishers and Valve that prohibits Valve from arbitrarily manipulating prices, or having sales outside of Publishers permissions. In any event, Valve has the final say. Typically doesn't intervene though, as that would cause chaos. A notice 30 days beforehand and they can make anything free. It's a lose-lose situation for Valve and Developer, but nothing stops them from doing so. Probably.

If valve wanted to give away the game, I think they 'could' as long as they fully compensate SCS while doing it.

No. I'd rather see the developers paid for the work they do.

This game is usually under £4 in the sale so if you can't afford that, gaming should be the least of your concerns.

I’ve been working for all my things for years. And this 12 year old wants it for free. Get a job in game design and you’ll see why games cost so much. $60 is the average cost for video games in the US. These games sre expensive to make. GTAV once held the record for most expensive produce video game back at launch, costing more then 250 million United States Dollars (USD). And for a game that only $60 per person with no DLCs, they’ve made over a billion USD since 2013. Most of them come from online micro-transactions. ATS (which at launch was around $20 to $40) has made tremendous profit for SCS. While Utah was a bit over priced, the other stuff is made woth quality. Once you realize how expensive things are to produce, then we can discuss making games free.

No, every year steam has a fall sale during Thanksgiving/Black Friday week.

One of the few states in the game? Pretty much any would qualify
