Download speed capped at 70 MB/s ?
I have a 10 Gbits/s internet connection, for some reason the download speed on Steam seems capped at 70MB/s whereas Origin and Uplay can easily go up to 300MB/s,

Can I fix this somehow? I already tried switching servers, to no avail.

Set the Steam download priority in the taskmanager
Are you using windows 10
locate Steam in your Task Manager. Right-click on Steam Client entry and select Go to details.
Next, from your Detail panel, right-click on SteamService.exe and select Set priority, then High.
It may or may not work as Steam does seem to have Peak traffic times.
Also I find deleting the web browser cache in steam seems to help.
What regeon is set?

Just tried that, still peaking at 69.6 MB/s.

Maybe it's an absolute limite enforced by Valve, has anyone else experienced download speeds above 70 MB/s ?

(It's set to Switzerland, my country)

There is no limit on Steam. Steam can saturate connections.

I had Verizon instant @1Gb/s and got speeds of ~132MB/s on average.

Is this check box ticked?

Steam > Settings > Downloads >>> Display download rates in bits per second

Try other regions.

You read that wrong.

I have 10'000 Mbit/s internet speed, which should theoretically translates to a 1'250 MB/s download speed. I know that practically I will never go that fast, but I managed to reach real download speeds of 875 MB/s on other websites and 300 MB/s on both Origin and Uplay. This is the reason why I'm curious as to why I can't go as fast on Steam.

I'm gonna try other regions.

Considered Valve throttling download speeds?

So the rest of us can actually have some of that which is available?

I did, this is actually what I'm trying to find out.

To be clear, I'm not angry that I can't go faster as it wouldn't change anything for me at this point. I'm merely curious.
