If it was internet it wouldn't be that the images can't load for minutes straight (while watching youtube or streaming something or playing some other game), then work fine at other points?
I very seriously doubt it's my internet...
Currently, I see the same error.
Again, for clarity, all images ALWAYS load when you go to the guide. You just can't enlarge them.
The thumbnails in the guide are fine,
but when clicking on them it gives the INVALID URL error.
But if I then click on the image's link (upper left corner of error window) it enlarges them in a new window where it shows the image without problem.
Get the "Invalid URL" message on guide images, but if I click the link on the header of that message page I can get to the image and enlarge it etc no problems!
My guess is something on steam has broken.
Edit# If you click the middle mouse button on the image you want to view it should open up. Previously I was clicking right mouse button to open them, but that doesn't work now. But middle click does. Just tested it!

I've added images to my guides and when you click them it gives a popup with invalid url message, however if you click the same url at the top of that popup window (in steam client) it opens another popup window that does actually display the image.
Here's my guide as example of the problem.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2856356805
So this is example URL for the initial popup that shows the invalid url message..
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/displayimageformodaldialog/?imageurl=https%3A%2F%2Fsteamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net%2Fugc%2F1767121243978616507%2F60C1AE6B8FEB66FE862989FDD3EF9286B1BA5C06%2F
and below is the URL for the image which works and displays in the second popup (which only shows in steam client, not web)
https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/1767121243978616507/60C1AE6B8FEB66FE862989FDD3EF9286B1BA5C06/
Might be something funky with steam converting characters in the image filename in the url.
