Valve doesn't need to (and won't) pay for exclusivity.
Those do not count as games?
Can't speak for all but I will say everyone I know, including myself, claim the free games and haven't purchased a thing from Epic. Hell I have yet to even download and install the Epic client and play any of the free games I've claimed.
If Fortnite wouldn't print money for Epic, the whole platform would have burned and sunk by now.
So what? We are talking about Steam here.
That's what you think but Valve clearly does not or it would have done something over a year ago
Maybe so but I already have a big enough backlog of games I still haven't played so I have more than enough to play until something comes to Steam, unless I get it for PS5 during that time.
Because Epic is willing to lose billions of dollars to bribe dev's just so they are TEMPORARILY on their store. Steam has quite a few major name games as well that EPIC doesn't have without having to bribe and lose billions of dollars.
OP was complaining about games not coming to Steam but are on Epic. That list of games listed by Cathulhu was games that have came to Steam as a way to point out flaws in the OPs viewpoint.
Steam itself runs fine. EGS may have exclusivity deals, but those are temporary and afterwards games usually are released elsewhere too. Well, maybe with the exception of Ubisoft games.
On the other hand Valve is very profitable not only with Steam, but also with their VR gear Index and the portable PC SteamDeck.
They also contribute to the openness of gaming by heavily supporting gaming on Linux.
Unlike Epic who literally cancelled the Linux version of Easy Anti Cheat after they've bought its company.
Then buy it on the Ubisoft Store.
Then play one of the other games on Steam or buy it on EPIC or the Uplay store. Epic only has the exclusives because they pay off the developers and the EPIC store can't generate a profit and has lost over a billion dollars because of it.
Steam isn't going to throw away money like EPIC does, they can get good games without having to pay for them.
Although Far Cry 6 isn't an Epic exclusive, its sold on the Uplay store.
