Deleted threads and reward points

I was wondering if an entire thread is deleted by a moderator does everyone that had rewards in that thread lose points?

No.

Threads actually don't fully delete. They're just hidden from public view. So the posts with the awards are still there, you just can't see them.

Anything deleted will still keep the awards intact.

The only time awards get taken back is when the award giver refunds something and goes into a points deficit.

As rawWwRrr says, deleted threads and posts are essentially just hidden anyway.

Interesting, when I search game discussion threads I do see an option for 'search deleted posts' yet even though I search words that I absolutely know where in a deleted thread I have never seen a search find a deleted post.

Also when I look at my post history any post that I made in a deleted thread are removed.

They must be very well hidden!

Not really. If you go to your activity feed, on the right you see "My Comment History". that history also includes deleted posts.

This. Of course you can only see your posts, not the entire thread.

Nope, rinaldop is correct. If a thread you posted in was deleted, replies you made to it disappear from your post history.

Post History is not the same as Comment History.

You can view your deleted posts (posts you deleted or posts from threads that another user or mod deleted) in your Comment History.

The only way I know your points can disappear is when the user who awarded you refunds a game that provided them with those points. Otherwise you should keep your reward.
