Windows 11 and Doom Eternal

I have a new Alienware computer and Doom Eternal dumps to the desktop every time I try to play it. It plays all my other games just perfect. I have had toooo many exchanges with Bethesda and Dell on this issue to to avail. Pissed about this issue for sure. Anyone else having issues?

Doom Eternal and Win 11 do not get along. Win 11 is a mess i use win 10 enterprise with a flawless experience throw Win 11 where it belongs in a virtual trash can lol. If games dump to your desktop it is Win 11 with it's bad compatibility.

Doom Eternal uses Vulkan and pushes various limits of the API. Make sure to download the latest graphics drivers from your GPU vendor(s) to ensure that Vulkan is working correctly. Also if that doesn't help try clearing your Vulkan Implicit layers - go to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Khronos\Vulkan\ImplicitLayers and delete all entries, then go to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Khronos\Vulkan\ImplicitLayers and delete all entries. Restart Steam to reinstall its own layers then relaunch the game.

Note the registry editing will remove all third party Vulkan layers which might necessitate reinstalling certain programs like capture software.

Whether this belongs in the Doom Eternal forum or the Hardware and Operating system forum is probably a tossup because the issue is most likely Vulkan drivers.
