Two examples (out of quite a few, so not listing them all) are Hearts of Iron IV and Farcry 3 - neither are games I would ever have any intention of ever playing!
Because Steam is setup to show installed games of other users in your library on the same PC, even if you dont own them.
Nope, this is my machine, and mine alone.
Then you best bet is checking the license page that B-o-B already linked.
It will show when the game was added to your account and what kind of license it was.
OK, so all the ones I didn't know about show as "Retail" rather than as "Steam Store"... weirdness!

And if you see anything marked "complimentary" it means that you got the key for free on steam, e.g. a free dlc or a demo.
