To awnser your already awnsered criticism towards me; i do not recall opting in to see adult content since it was probably a long time ago, but i still stand by that decision since i am open to see whatever kind of stuff comes onto steam.
Adult content in the form of nudity, ingame portrayal of sex acts or extreme gore are all pushing a certain boundary and i can appreciate that.
What i did not expect when allowing adult content to be shown was 60% of the games listed under "new and popular" to be hentai shovelware, to a point where i can't even scroll through steam store at work without worry.
Nothing here is over exaggerated, i don't see why i would do that because i was assuming it was like that for everyone, i didn't even know there were preferences or filters to set.
And to some of you jokers hinting at me being the perverted one since the algorithm is so keen on selling me hardcore tentacle porn dating sims, i'd show you my steam library of 500+ games none of which being an adult one, but i keep my profile friends-only since some neckbeards like to downvote and spam all my content when they disagree with me.
(Not a dig at any of you, i'm referring to fanboys of games i criticise).
Maybe one of my many steam friends i barely/don't know has a severe addiction and is influencing the algorithm for me, but i ♥♥♥♥ you not it used to be mostly porn on that "new and popular" tab.
Apologies for seeming like an idiot considering the fact that i must have opted in for it myself at some point, but i never expected anything like this.
By the way "Idontexist" i don't know if you feel targeted by this post but i was criticising the sheer unbalance between porn games and actual indie games i was shown.
I may have referred to the target audience as degenerates but whatever people do is none of my business an up to them, seemed funny to me.

And no, i'm not going to undo the filters now and look back months of hentai releases in a homework essay to prove my point to you.
Maybe just accept that the algorithm, of which many people have expressed they don't entirely know how it functions, acted differently for me than it did for you.

People have proven me wrong on thinking adult content is enabled by default, i admitted to that.
The rest of it is just you not wanting to accept my suggested games were way messed up, can't help you with that.

In my personal experience, you have to own/play the games to see more of them. I've had adult only enabled since forever and I didn't start getting recommends until I owned/completed a few. That said I still don't see that much on the store front page. Mostly it's hidden in the "New Releases" and "Upcoming" tabs. I spend more time searching for new titles than I do just discovering them on the front page.
