You should hear the connection sound. Next type joy.cpl in the search on the taskbar and press Enter. You should see a wireless controller when joy.cpl boots. Click ok and exit Joy.cpl if it shows a wireless controller.
Boot Steam then go to Steam > Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings
Untick all the boxes except for Playstation Configuration Support
Once rebooted try plugging the cable into different usb ports.
Next type joy.cpl in the search on the taskbar and press Enter.
Is there any entry for a controller?
go into
device manager....
click on view (at the top)
click on.. show all hidden devices..
go down to and
open USB controllers and delete any grey listing..
do the same in USB devices
Uninstall Playstation Now for PC as that did not work.
Next go to https://github.com/Ryochan7/DS4Windows/releases and download the appropriate file - x86 or x64.
Keep the DS4 connected.
Extract the file (unzip).
Create a desktop shortcut of the DS4Windows.exe (blue icon) inside the folder.
Double click the desktop icon. Is the controller detected? If not disconnect then reconnect.
The DS4 needs to be completely reset to disassociate it.
Are you using the same cable you used on the other PC?
