How can I post comments on someones profle, or reply to mine

I get the occasional comment left on my steam profile while gaming, is there a way to reply to these comments, and how do i do the same, and leave a comment for someone that I have gamed with?

Yeah, there are three or so settings on profile options. Public, friends only or no comments allowed. If it's on your own profile, you should just be able to comment back on it.

Post a reply on your own profile. Most people that leave a comment are probably monitoring for a response or reaction.

I dont even see how to post a reply on my own. I am not seeing a reply button or anything, just a trash can that lets me delete comments.

There should be an input field between "Comments" and the most recent comment. It even shows your avatar right next to it .

The comment section on your profile doesn't function like the forums. It's a very simple communication interface. If you are wanting to reply to someone specific, just @them in your own comment.

If this is all in reference to the one comment I see, don't chase the trolls.

Ive deleted a dozen comments recently, and have always wondered how to reply to them, some are from friends etc. and I dont see a button where I can reply.

There is no reply button!

there's no way to directly reply to a comment, but commenting on your own profile will give recent commenters a notification even if they haven't subscribed to the thread

There was a thread on this a while back but no one gave a clear answer.

So I'm going to ask again,

Why isn't the reply function a thing on profiles yet?

What's the point of having a comment feature in your profile for people to post on when there's no reply button? Steam knows they're there for conversations, compliments, questions and cope so again what is the purpose of having a comment feature when there's no reply button?

It's terrible that some of us have to feel bad to ignore them because we don't want to add them just to reply their messages or comment over their page for certain reasons.

If you do not want random people posting comments make you profile Friends Only.

This would make a terrible mess in your profile and can make it look like you’re talking to yourself. You also have no way telling that person subscribed to your comment and if he did, he would also get notification every time others post it which is seen as bothersome to them.

If they add the reply button then there would be a feature where you press to “see more” to expand the conversation below the original comment.

So that way it looks neat and tidy.

I also signed up to steam in 2021 and I am still trying to figure it out, now they are cancelling support for windows 8 in 19 days so I am done with this crap.
