STEAM SCAM GOING AROUND
My account got hacked (A bot logged in)

The scam starts off by you getting a message from someone asking you to vote for some ♥♥♥♥ esports team, going to the page will prompt you to log in with your steam details and vote. Done.

Because I'm a colossal idiot I fell for this and my steam account got hacked (I did change all my passwords for everything I use and my account is fine) But the silver lining is this hack seems to use a bot / AI on your account and messages everyone on your friend list the same thing, then blocks them.

Nothing was spent on my account, nothing else was compromised, but still be careful and try not to be as dumb as I am.
My cousin got "hacked" because of me because he believed my message.

Oldest scam in the book. PSAs don't work.
Yeah one of my friends was saying this was a textbook scam and he sees it on Tf2 all the time, im a dumbass
thank you!

I've changed my password on everything, even 2fa and have tightened security up, you think I should be okay?

It was just a bot on my account but still to be safe I've changed everything, even ran a virus scan to no avail just to be sfae.

I think 2fa is enough but better safe than sorry. I clicked a fishy link once and a bot attempted to trade all my items. 2fa confirmation blocked it, thankfully
1. Scan for malware. You can download the free Malwarebytes here https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Deauthorize all other devices here https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
3. Change passwords from a clean computer
4. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App here https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
5. Revoke/Delete the API key here https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey (the API key text box should be empty)

------------------------

In future if a site asks you to log in via steam log into this address first:

https://store.steampowered.com/login/

Once logged in refresh the page that is asking you to login via steam using f5. If it is a legit page it will ask you to confirm by clicking a button..

If after you refresh the page still asks for your login details then it is not legit.
