Give her this link to use in a browser- https://help.steampowered.com/en/wizard/HelpWithSteamIssue/?issueid=706
Important, she shouldn't assume she's using the right login - she actually needs to check.
If she's receiving the usual "name or password not correct" message from Steam, and your gf has reset the password without any trouble, then the above is nearly always the reason for a failed login. It's virtually impossible for one PC to work and have those same details fail to log in somewhere else.
Do browser login steam website use different ID than Client ?
The only other thing that comes to mind is that she's confusing the login of two different accounts - this happens all the time as well.
She can contact Support, but they for security reasons, won't be able to tell her the missing information either.
If all else fails, she'll have to recover the account by going through the standard recovery process.
Try at steam client. Fail. As above topic mentioned all these steps done within the span of 15 minutes
If want can try redownload client, visit where Steam installed, delete everything except for Steamapp folder and steam.exe file, once done run steam.exe, and see if issue resolved.
She only has 2 indie games. Worst case scenario is recreate new account
Although, I bet on Dr. Shadows having hit the nail right on the head.
I have seen people say to check with backspace after the password and/or login name to make sure there aren't any spaces after them - getting rid of the extra space(s) let them log in.
I have also seen people say that copy-paste of their account name and password didn't work, but typing them in by hand did. That might have just been the same extra space issue being caused by copy-paste.
This time I help her check the email every word.
Noticed that her steam ID and name has 1 character difference (She think is all same)
And now case closed
