You cannot file a ticket for her account, she will have to make the inquiry herself.

Give her this link to use in a browser- https://help.steampowered.com/en/wizard/HelpWithSteamIssue/?issueid=706

Just a note because this happens a lot; people assume it's the password that is wrong when it's not. Steam requires your account name, NOT your profile name - those aren't the same things. Also, don't use your email address. Login is solely by account name. You can find your account name on emails sent to you by Steam.

Important, she shouldn't assume she's using the right login - she actually needs to check.

If she's receiving the usual "name or password not correct" message from Steam, and your gf has reset the password without any trouble, then the above is nearly always the reason for a failed login. It's virtually impossible for one PC to work and have those same details fail to log in somewhere else.

Nope, they use the same login and everything goes through the same authentication servers. Did she confirm the account name by checking early emails she received from Steam in the past? What's basically going on, is that your girlfriend and Steam are having a fundamental disagreement over her login details.

The only other thing that comes to mind is that she's confusing the login of two different accounts - this happens all the time as well.

She can contact Support, but they for security reasons, won't be able to tell her the missing information either.

If all else fails, she'll have to recover the account by going through the standard recovery process.

Password done reset, then login on webpage, success.
Try at steam client. Fail. As above topic mentioned all these steps done within the span of 15 minutes

Ensure you're using your login name, not your email, or display name to login with. There people who had made said mistakes before.

If want can try redownload client, visit where Steam installed, delete everything except for Steamapp folder and steam.exe file, once done run steam.exe, and see if issue resolved.

No, however I used to approve my library sharing on her laptop before.

She only has 2 indie games. Worst case scenario is recreate new account :berserk:

I asked about family view, not family sharing.
Although, I bet on Dr. Shadows having hit the nail right on the head.

The Steam website accepts a longer password than the Steam client does. If she has a very long password, that might be the problem.

I have seen people say to check with backspace after the password and/or login name to make sure there aren't any spaces after them - getting rid of the extra space(s) let them log in.

I have also seen people say that copy-paste of their account name and password didn't work, but typing them in by hand did. That might have just been the same extra space issue being caused by copy-paste.

Tested a few more times password reset and recovery.
This time I help her check the email every word.
Noticed that her steam ID and name has 1 character difference (She think is all same)
And now case closed :berserk:

Glad you resolved the issue lol, well hopefully she remamber her account from now on or tell her to use password manger like KeePass is a free advance password manager of course can keep it simple on it.
