Steam 'livestream' is not actually live but playing archived video
What's up with that? A game I was looking at had the livestream going on at the top of the store page, and when I looked the guy up on twitch itself he was streaming a completely different game. A while later the video actually mentioned a date - about a week ago.... it was a week old video being played as if it were a livestream..

That sounds like the person forgot to change the details of the game their playing tbh, in which case Steam just automatically put him there because his streaming service didn't update the game he was playing

No I mean the Steam storepage is showing a 'livestream' of this dude playing the correct storepage game. But in reality this is not live at all and he is literally doing a completely different, >>actually live<< stream on twitch.

It's still playing, listed as 'now broadcasting' with 1462 viewers. This 'livestream' is in reality a week old recording being played, on twitch itself he's currently offline

Those live streams on store pages are just marketing video's, don't expect it to be 'real '. I personally always ignore those video's and just go to youtube if I want to see real gameplay.
just came across this my self. producer gaijin networks two new games are being streamed right now live by the same two people at the same time its kinda funny to watch cuz the duality of the games.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
