Hidden Achievements Not Unlocking
So as you all know, most games with achievements have a few achievements that Steam hides making them harder to unlock.
As you progresss further in the game and unlock more achievements, the hidden ones should slowly become visible.
But this never happens, they always stay hidden no matter how many "regular" achievements you unlock.

Why hasn't Valve fixed this after all these years? For completionists like me it's a bit frustrating.

Just look at an achievement guide if you want to get it done rather than finding out for yourself.
It just makes them frustratingly hard to unlock. Why hide them anyway?
That's a question you should ask the developers of the game(s). Only they can tell you why they did it.

But in general they're stuff the developers want you to discover by yourself and not via an achievement description. For example possible choices in a story, secret areas, easter eggs, etc.

It's not Steam that hides them, it's the developers/publishers that set them like that. They will become visible once you unlock them by doing what is required. Or you can check the global list to see them.

It's working as intended.

Weird because for me they never unlock, no matter which game I play.
Global list unhids them but they're not any showing description

If they don't unlock, it simply means you haven't done the requirement for the achievement. They will remain hidden until you get the achievement, that's when it makes itself visible.

The description in the global list isn't there because they're hidden. They're supposed to not be described, they're hidden by the game devs for a reason.

Because they're usually story related or related to a secret in the game. By hiding the description they're avoiding spoilers.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Ah I see. Thanks for the answers. This part was never clear to me. Guess if I really want to see those hidden achievements I'll have to use a workaround. Especially in a 2nd playthrough of a game, there aren't really any spoilers left.

The easy workaround is to view global achievement stats on your achievement page. You'll be able to see the titles of the achievements, though not all developers/publishers will have a clear description of exactly what the achievement needs to unlock. Sometimes the achievement title is the clue, sometimes it isn't so clear. Achievement Guides for many games are a thing too- a few clicks away in the Community Hub.
