Steam using 100% of my bandwith in task manager but downloading slowly
Hey so i've been trying to download some games, usually i can download at around 100Mb/s.

But right now my downloads are capped at 10 but my ethernet usage in my task manager is at 100% using 100mb/s so what is happening.

tried clearing download cache and switching server too

Task Manager: Mbps
Steam downloads (default): MB/s

Task Manager uses Megabit per second.
Steam uses Megabyte per second.

8Bit = 1 Byte

100 Megabit = 12.5 Megabyte

Go to your Steam settings, choose Downloads and check the box "display download rates in bits per second" and look again at our download speed.

Do you have a screenshot of the download?

You have a 1gb download speed? And that's exactly what Steam is telling you it is using?

Oh really? Did you even look at the numbers compared to yours? Because looking the same is the smoothness of the download and install, not the pure numbers which are entirely different from their 1 Gbps to your 100Mbps

You know we can see the date on that right?
It looks like you just found some random persons speedtest and copy/pasted it here.

Show us a speedtest from today. That does not at all align with 100 Mbps.

Show us Steams result from today, and a SpeedTest from today.

Ignore speedtest. That is not indicative of real world usage speeds. Just the stuff Steam shows, just like my picture.
