Whats the complaint? We effectively got a price mark up. Why do you find it unusual? Imagine you'd pay for something in a certian price range and now it has suddenly gone up. You'd be annoyed as well.
All the prices are screwed up and I can't even tell if I'm being ripped off or not.
Yup same here
Some games that i own that are no longer purchaseable for my region after the change have dlcs priced for 0.00 now lol and i have option to check out. Not gonna do it because i'm a paranoid but something worth mentioning.
I just wonder why two games that cost 60$ have a difference of 15 shekels in price between them. even if you include the conversion rate you won't reach 240ILS (AC Origins) while Shadow of War 224ILS and both are a 60$ game.
Too bad humble bundle dosen't accept paysafecards
cause this is my only way of payment atm.
As mentioned, the game publisher or in cases of smaller indie based titles being the developer who is also the publisher who dictate the pricing.
Steam merely set a guideline for recommended pricing for diffrent region, the final say goes to the publisher of the game.
Sure you can blame the devs for forcing steam to enforce regional pricing like they did awhile ago and steam having to allow it or not be able to sell their games or I guess you could just keep stealing games like this if that's the case.
Incidentally, your steam wallet was not converted at this rate - you got 3.66 ils for every shekel - so it's a double ♥♥♥♥ move.
So, considering they decided to royally screw us over, I'll just say that Steam keys are not available only directly from their store.
Instead they even raise the prices it’s freaking ridiculous.
The exchange rate is currently 3.54 ILS for USD, and some of the games were converted by 4 or even worse. Why do publishers have to think of prices themselves? why don't Steam lets them choose the price by USD, and converts automatically to other currency by current exchange rate?
Not to mention there is a lot of piracy, and raising prices only hurts legit customers who don't want to go that route.
It seems it really is specific publishers right now. I've seen a DLC that cost $20 costing 70 ILS, which is the correct exchange.
Check Warhammer Total War 2, though, and you'll see it's priced at 249, while in the UK its price is 185 ILS (in pounds. Yes I was curious and compared.)
Guess we're all 35% richer here than in the UK. Good to know. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to board my space ship to the flying fortress, and sip a cup of moonbeam wine, like we always do.
Lol well put my friend and yeah I forgot all about the piracy, most people here will never buy what they can get for free from questionable sources, steam and publishers are definitely hurting the few legitimate customers left here.
