Steam key: activation attempt limit, cooldown period?

Recently I purchased a game pack from an external website and claimed about twenty to thirty games before the website and desktop client both began to advise "There have been too many recent activation attempts from this account or Internet address. Please wait and try your product code again later." - what is the cooldown period before I can begin to claim the rest of the titles to my account?

Make sure to wait the full 60 minutes before making another attempt or the clock will reset on the cooldown.

Of course you can buy steam keys. There’s plenty of websites that sell them like GameStop, Newegg, Walmart, humble bundle, and more.

most steam keys can be bought for about 10% of what they cost here, guess I always assumed it was a scam/not allowed...might try it out

Keys aren't sold on Steam. Licenses are.

I picked up a Fanatical bundle with KOF XIV, Konami Arcade Collection, Atari Vault, SNK collection, for $5.

They ran out of keys quickly and KOF and SNK collection weren't in the bundle after they sold out.

They changed the ratelimits it seems after claiming 50 games u get like 3 minute cooldown to claim a single game. It used to be a full hour before claiming another 50 games, this could still be the case but it simply changed
