Steam literally discriminate players with region-lock. It's sick!
Yesterday i saw Lost Ark in top2 and wanted to try but guess what...

This item is currently unavailable in your region
WTF is this, Valve???... 2022 and such discrimination still exists?
What is difference between me and other 500.000 player?
Give me the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game!!!

That's why they had to disable the access for russian users, so they wouldn't violate contracts.

Ask the publisher of the russian version to release the russian version on Steam.

is it steam or your own government....

is there anything from the game makers as to why there is a region lock
Ask your government instead of immediately getting aggressive towards Steam.

Steam is international platform so if they allow region locked games appears here - they support such behavior and responsible for it same as publisher.

Steam is an international platform so they have to comply each countries' respective law and publishers' decision

You seems to think, if you can't have it no one should.
Valve and publishers has to obey the laws for the countries they do business with.

So because your government has banned the game from being sold in your country, no one else should be able to buy the game either?

As has been said, complain to your government about it. They are the ones deciding what games can and can't be sold in your country. If your current government is bad, work to get it replaced with better one.

"Discrimination", sure. Kiddo, learn about the history of racism (or it's present). THAT'S discrimination.

So what you're saying is that Valve should only allow games on Steam that your country (Russia?) approves. If not, it's discrimination?

I really don't think that's how it works. Like, at all.

It is almost always publishers rather than the government, Lost Ark's Russian distribution is managed by Mail.ru, not Steam as far as i know. game is indeed allowed in Russia.

Thanks for clarifying. I'm not familiar with Lost Ark, so I looked into it. Seems like the Steam release isn't targeting a Russian audience.

OP can always play the Russian (non-Steam) release.

And why should i do this?
If it wasnt on steam i could agree.
There was no option at all.
But now i cant play only and only because of region-lock.

As i say before - i dont care of local publisher. And i dont ask to take back game from it.
Just give me steam access. Why i cant ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ choose?!?!?!?!?
