2 MacBook Questions: Cloud Saves With Windows & Mac / Where are game saves stored on MacBooks?
I recently bought a MacBook Air and a few of my games are both Windows and Mac compatible and they also have Steam Cloud Saves...

First question: is say I play some on windows and my progress is saved via the steam cloud will I then be able to download the save progress onto the mac version and more or less pick up where I left off?

Second question: Where exactly are the games that don't have Steam Cloud Saves store the saved game files?

Local game save addresses vary; you’ll have to find information on a per-game basis. :messagebottle:

1) Unless you somehow got a older x86 macbook air, you cloud saves are more or less moot since pretty much all your games on the M1 macbook airs are going to stop working in 2-3 years

2) games with steam cloud can be seen if you click the "i" button on the game page in your library

3) note cloud saves don't transfer across platforms

I came back to update this thread in case anybody in the future has a question....

YES the Steam Cloud Game Saves will transfer from Windows to Mac two of my games House Flipper and American Truck Simulator both of which use a version of cloud saving both loaded my game save i uploaded on my Windows PC and then downloaded onto my MacBook Air and loaded my save successfully and I am able to pick up where I left off from both games.

So to break it down, If a game you play uses any form of cloud saving whether it's via Steam or the games own cloud severs you will be able to pick up where you left off as long as you download the save from the cloud and then reupload it before switching back
