Sorry for that, I was worried and I am new. So wanted confirmations from some more people
friending someone on steam is safe...

giving out your password and other details is not safe

the same for entering your details on 3rd party
sites for votes and things very high risk of unsafe...

Don't click random links from friends. Especially don't sign into steam if prompted from a random link.
