Whats with the "add me I need to talk to you" comments on profiles?
I been getting a lot of those on my comments lately, deleting them immediately. Anyone know the reason towards this?

They are trying to scam you. Block them and ignore.

It always seemed weird to me they'd comment something like that. I mean, we're talking right now. Why do you need to add me? :insomniac:

I think scammers feel that they have an easier time if they are on their targets "friend"-list.

The public profile of yours with "7777" item owned, Is a big flag to scammers "Hey! come scam me! look what shinnies I have!"

It's cause you play CSGO and have items. That game is a hotbed for scammers and degeneracy

Nice to know I'm not alone.
Seen this in my firends posted screenshots and also mine.
Its like the dude needs to urgently talk to you in private.
We did the same just blocked him.
I think he's doing it cause he thinks being a friend he can see our inventory.
What concerns me is can he use any tools to steal my account .
We dont play CSGO .

Don't click links from them and don't enter your details on external sites or sites that ask you to log in to steam. There isn't any magical tools they use to get into your account without you giving them information or installing something on your pc. There's no hidden magic tool to be scared of.

THE REASON THEY HAVE YOU ADD THEM IS BECAUSE NO ONE WILL BE ABLE TO PROTECT YOU, YOU ARE A IN A 1V1 CONVERSATION WITH THEM TRYING TO SEND YOU TO ANOTHER SITE SO YOU DONT LOSE YOUR ACCOUNT.

THEY ARE JUST HACKING (SOCIAL ENGINEERING) TO GET YOUR INFO.

STAY SAFE.

If it becomes a major issue (you're tired of deleting/blocking spammers), you could do the following to prevent randoms from commenting on your profile entirely:

1. Go to teo > Profile.
2. Click Edit Profile.
3. Select Privacy Settings.
4. Change "Can post comments on my profile:" to Friends Only.
