Dots on steam userpics

Hi guys, lately i can see my friends on the friendlist with some points on their avatars right at the right side. I still cant manage to fing out about meaning of this points. Can you please provide some help?

If it's not a picture frame, then you must be seeing the 'away' symbol. When someone is not using steam or the game for a few minutes, steam marks them as an idling player and changes the continuous blue/green line on their name to a dotted blue/green line. It just means they're afk at the moment.

But i can see up to 6 dots. I cant see the changelog of this update. Its so weird.

It is the "away" symbol. It's not new either; pretty sure it was added when the Friends & Chat update was released a few years ago.

If you look at the end of their name they might also have 3 small z's. LIke Freaky John zzz
