I can’t connect or play any online games but my internet works fine.
its my first time posting here so sorry if the formatting is s***. ill explain in further details, i got this new gaming pc but i cant play any online games on it, whenever i connect, it either keeps me in queue to join a game or simply kicks me out with a certain error message (varies with every game) but i can go on youtube and use the internet just fine. I can also play the campaign without any issue it’s just the online, i tried over a hundred methods to solve this problem but i still cant seem to figure it out.

list of the things i tried so far:

factory resetting my pc (twice)

reinstalling windows

uninstalling the games and reinstalling them

disabling my firewall

factory resetting my modem and router

port-forwarding (i dont think i did it correctly though)

multiple CMD commands to renew TCP/IP

changing network adapter settings

using a different DNS server

updating all my drivers

deleting all my network drivers and restarting the computer

using an ethernet connection instead of WI-FI and vice-versa

calling my ISP with no luck

i also tried disabling certain services from task manager with no luck

checked the device for malware using different anti-virus software it came back clean every time

tried using VPN worked once but not again ( but some of the error came back different)

started the system in clean boot and safe boot mode to try and pin point the error also no luck

and many other things

list of the games i tested:

GTA V: surprisingly the only game I can play online without any issue (extremely confused)

fortnite (when i leave the battle bus i get kicked out with the following error message “You were removed from the match due to your IP, VPN, machine, or cheating.”)

call of duty warzone (the game keeps me in queue searching for a match but won’t let me connect i waited for 20 minutes just to be sure)

valorant (similar issue to warzone looking for a match but wouldn’t let me connect)

CS:GO (gives me a matchmaking error but sometimes works but as soon as i move or get a kill it kicks me out instantly)

Apex (keeps me in queue and doesn’t let me join any game, tried changing the region still didn’t work)

this problem im facing is only on this PC as my old laptop works just fine i can play all the games i mentioned above with no issues whatsoever apart from the obvious frame drops, im starting to think that maybe this has something to do with the hardware of my PC as its custom built but with what components exactly? any help would be appreciated as this issue is extremely frustrating..

Things you can try.

- If using proxy, custom DNS ensure they're not causing problems, may have to disable it to using default network, or change services of them to ensure they're not causing you the slow down with said service.

- If using custom firewall ensure that not causing problems.

- flushing your network, open command promt as admin, and give this a try.

netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset
https://youtu.be/O4qOzFngjys

If not working still try these in order, then restart, and test.

ipconfig /release
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /renew

- If you're using wifi usb, or whatever wifi chip ensure that isn't the problem, try connecting directly to modem/router using you ethernet cable.

- If you use 3rd party software that has VPN, or does something to your network, or mess with other apps, for it access, and permissions, ensure that not the problem.

I will try these things now and let you know if it works, what kind of 3rd party software should I be looking for? As the device is pretty much brand new I don’t have many applications on it. Things like cheat engine and other random apps are on it could they possibly be affecting the pc?

i tried the commands in CMD and restarted the computer still didnt resolve the issue i also tried directly connecting the pc to my modem through Ethernet also with no success and i looked all over for any possible third-party apps that could be interfering with the network and i couldnt find anything :/

Cheat engine wouldn't cause network issue, but can get you banned from some games if they detect you hooking into those anti cheat games.

Things you be looking out for is like anti virus that doing false positive quarantine files, 3rd party app that messaging with file and permissions on for files and games, or 3rd party that interfere for incoming and outgoing data traffic that might block connections, or ports.

Since this is new system you did do full OS update correct? If not do windows update.

Another thing could do is file check on your OS.

Open, and run CMD as administrator, then type this without the quotes
" sfc /scannow " then it start scanning your system for missing, or corrupted files.

I only use cheat engine for campaign games to edit money or other things never for online and yes I downloaded the newest version of windows on a usb and reinstalled on my pc using the bios mode I also checked and made sure windows was up to date I also did “sfc /scannow” and it did come back with corrupted files but then after the scan it told me all files have been successfully restored I tried running the games again and the online issue is still there I don’t have any antivirus software apart from malware bytes I uninstalled but the issue didn’t get fixed

Try this as this just long shot, run in Windows safemode with network enable, only run the game client, and launch the game, and see what happens, if it works at that point, then you know something messing with you when you use windows normally.

And last thing I can think if above didn't work, try using VPN for a moment to see if anything changes, if it start working, then means your ISP messing with you.

I do have a question, do you use a modem and a router, or just a modem? If you use a modem, and a router then chance router might be the problem.

>I don’t have any antivirus software apart from malware bytes...

If you are running a Windows PC, Win 10 comes with Windows Defender built in (antivirus) + Windows Firewall. They are on by default in Windows 10, running in the background in realtime, unless you manually disabled them. Check in Windows Defender/Windows Firewall, quarantine and status/notifications to see if either are blocking anything.

i tried running the game in clean boot it didnt work, but haven't tried safemode yet ill test it and let you know, i did try using a VPN while playing fortnite and the game worked once and i didnt get kicked out of the lobby but i cant seem to get it to work again, i have both a modem and a router but as on my older laptop i can play fortnite with no issue whatsoever i doubt the issue is with my modem or router.

yes i tried disabling windows defender and the firewall but the games still dont want to work i checked to see if any thing is wrong with them or if they are blocking any specific things but they seem to be working fine with nothing wrong.

Alright try safe mode out see if that works out.

Can you tell me the model of your motherboard? Can try getting latest network driver for it, or reinstalling the network driver, if this not one of those hero motherboards, or crazy custom motherboards that hard to deal with, then should be using common driver like most, Realtek LAN Driver.

i tried booting up in safe mode but it wouldnt let me run any of the games with the following error "anticheat system cant start in safe mode" as fu**** as it already is pretty much every game uses anti-cheat so i couldn't really test most of the games i had. As for the motherboard i have an ASUS prime H270-PLUS and the network driver is infact a Realtek PCIe GbE Family Controller just like you said i checked on the asus website but im not sure what im looking for exactly
Z3ZO 26 ABR 2021 a las 7:04 p. m.
also here is my Realtek driver version: 10.47.121.2021 my laptop uses a different internet driver as i checked just to be sure so im thinking maybe the issue lies there im not sure though as my laptop works with no issue whatsoever
Dr.Shadowds 🐉 26 ABR 2021 a las 7:35 p. m.
Can try getting driver from here, the oldest one they have is 2017, but worth giving it a try.

Like the current version of your driver you have is for 2021, and came across this.
