How to remove custom URL?
Hello, I cant remove my custom URL and return format of link to steamcommunity.com/profiles/.
But when I remove my custom URL from profile settings and click Save, there are no changes to my profile link. Why?

That have been suggested 5 years ago. Yet, feature not implemented. https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/10/458604254429723135/

Go to an id finder and put your steam 64 id into the custom url.

Wow, as usual awful steam settings.
Nice comments when you try to remove your custom url that "Your profile will be available at: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198016474841" 🥴

It doesn't for me. It saves every change except custom URL removal.

Valve changed it on their end. You can join the suggestion thread...

Set your numeric ID as your custom URL.

That apparently doesn't work either.

I'm so glad I didn't make a custom url. I was so close to doing it but then I realized I better make sure it's possible to undo it first.

It's dumb that you can't undo it, but when you think about it, it kind of makes sense too. What happens if some e-celeb decides to make a custom url and they then offered free games to anybody who goes to that url and messages them for a free game? Then later on, they close the url? Anybody who unknowingly picks that same url in the future will be routinely harassed for free games by anybody who happens to come across that old link.

This could be applied to any number of things. Maybe the url used to be owned by a porn star, or a racist, or somebody an extremest group targeted for whatever reason. People could find themselves being harassed by the general public for a long time until they realize it's because of the custom url. I'm guessing maybe Valve wanted to avoid that?

It sucks you can't change it, but it kind of makes sense too though.

You can change it. You just can't remove it altogether once you set one, currently.

Oh. Well I didn't know that. It would be nice if any of this was explained by Valve before you make one.
