What the H is EA Play and what happens if i don't get enough money to pay for the next month?
What a deal! AR$75 (I am from Argentina) because it was on sale! I chose a month subscription over to buying some cards to get a badge for Game Dev Tycoon, and at first, i thought: Huh, cool! I can play some good games like the new Star Wars or C&C!

And then, i felt like... WTF! I just made a deal with EA!

Will this mean that when the subscription ends, i will still have it and Steam will charge me for extra money i don't have? Or it would be only automatically cancelled upon Steam detecting i am outta money? I am kinda scared about it, i chose MANUAL subscription, and i thought i metaphorically signed a contract with EA that each month i'll pay them money via Steam, like a credit card automatic system

But aside from that, i wanna you to give me your two cents. How good is actually that system? It is good to have a game renting system, but i've heard that, at least for EA standards, it is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

You can cancel it anytime and you will keep the time you've paid for.

I think there is somewhere in steam ( or in ea website, i am not sure how subscriptions works if you buy them from steam) an option to not let the monthly fee charge you automatically at the end of the month like any other subscription method so i guess it's just normal and it is cheap for a way to let more people join it.
Talking about the service itself, i mean you get good games that you can play during the time you are subscribed if you are interested into them Dragon Age saga, newer games older games, depends on your genre, i think it's a solid deal especially if you pay like one euro right now.

whats the subscription for????

Manual subscription, i paid it and got two EA games to my library, but i fear that Steam will automatically charge me another 75 pesos (Or even more if the sale runs out and goes to ir's original price) once it ends

It's Ea play, it's on steam, it gives you acces to Eletronic Arts games.
For the newer one you get like some hours only of free time for each new game to spend on, and for older games you can play them completely or at least till the subcription runs out ( Dragon Age origins, The Star wars games and older games too)

If you want to make a conscious decision about whether the subscription is *worth it* for you, consider the following:

Do you have enough free time and infrastructure in your home, to warrant downloading many different types of games, of spanning levels of hardware requirements, and to spend enough of your time playing them, to the point where it makes the fee that you are paying worthwhile?

The important thing to realise about subscriptions is you need to make it a monthly habit of you summarising your experience with the service. Are you still making the fee worthwhile or not, based on the amount of time that you've utilised it this month? If not then that is a sign that you should probably unsubscribe as soon as possible.

I think that as long as you are reminded regularly of the fact that you have an ongoing subscription, and that you keep asking the question above, EA Play can be a fantastic deal for people that have strong resource coverage, but are not so inclined to invest full price on a game, not knowing if the replayability will cover for it or not.
The discount, as it stands right now, makes this decision more trivial so now would be the best of times to get into it, but never let slip the habit of checking up on your subscriptions, because that fee will change with time, and so may the time that you have available.

Totally.

I've spent a lot of money upgrading my hardware recently and now that my PC can run most of my steam games, unlike my previous hardware, i can totally devote my free time (Work every week, of course) to play anything i want

Good way to think also for any other subscription generally.
But as it is right now for the price it is, if you have a solid pc and want to try new things, new games just for the sake of playing new stuff, it's probably a no brainer to try it out.
