Why do people treat VAC banned players like human garbage?
Seriously. Id like to know why. Why do people act to us like a garbage? Of course some people with VAC are acting rude, but we are not all the same. Only because of VAC ban people treat us like human garbage and some even block us if we want to add them to a friend list.

I've run into a VAC discussion this morning, you know how it is "i didnt cheat" blah blah so i suggested him that he COULD ask support why but then i went on his profile and i saw that his ban is already like more than a week old so if he was innocent, he would have been unbaned anyway. Later that day a guy that is on steam for 17 years replied and shortly after that i was noticed by Forum guy that the comment i told you about few moments ago was "inappropriate"

When i looked at the guys account he treats people with VAC bans like human garbage, there are more people out there that would back me up on this guy and his aggresion and hell even the Forum dudes are backing him up. I will not mention his name.

This is a normal discussion so please everyone behave. If this thread gets closed then its obvious that the moderators of this forum are backing him up.

So again.. why do u treat us like garbage?

Personally i think Vac bans should be removed from an account after 10 years have passed as most crimes you can get expunged from your record(USA) after a certain amount of time. But would i add a cheater or play with a known cheater probably not, Though depends on the game of course. As i dont play comp games

Yeah, most decent people don't want to play with cheaters, even if it's just co-op.
Rapists and pedophiles get placed on a sex offender list for the rest of their lives, too, so I agree that the VAC record should be permanent.

I don't respect vac banned players and I never will. I think people who have a VAC ban should start a new profile if they wish to mingle within the community.

Because you cheated?

I mean sure you could be one of the tiny minority that had their account compromised but when these claims are made most of the time no evidence can be given to support a persons defence.

People who cheat knowingly, deserve to be treated like garbage because In most cases they are Impacting someones gaming experience In a negative way.

You get VAC banned because you cheated and now you don't like the way people Interact with you? Poor you. Get over It and make a new account.

Whenever one of these threads arise I always make the same mental exersice.
Us Mods can see how many times a user has been forum banned or warning. And LOTS of people posting here have that 'hidden' mark next to their names.

So I always wonder how things could be if Steam decided to make that mark public and people who got forum banned at a certain moment also carried a 'mark' in Steam. And how it would feel for many to be 'The guy with the Scarlet Letter' The guy with a 'FORUM BANNED' red mark on his profile. And how would sit for people if what's being discussed for VAC Banned Cheaters tomorrow was to be applied to 'Forum Banned' users while being one of them.

Agreed. But it would be better if Valve blocked them from purchasing more multiplayer games.
What would be the point? A VAC banned account can't buy more multiplayer games but the user can create a new one and buy them there instead.

Further punishing an account does little to punish real cheaters and it's mostly going to punish further people who decide to man up and keep using the account.

A real cheater isn't going to cheat on his main account. So what purpose serves forbidding further what's basically a burner account most of the time.
However, Little Tim who was an idiot at 14 and cheated because he wanted to win but decided to continue with his account after a VAC Ban, now he's the one punished further while the real cheater laughs from his single-game burner account.

A LOT of VAC related discussions is full of people cutting their nose to spite their face. And people proposing such measures don't usually think they can end up in the receiving end.
And it's not a nice receiving end and no one is going to listen to why you're a special case and 'not like the others'.

The problem of being an innocent man in prison is all the innmates claim likewise.

I usually avoid threads like this one because it's a waste of time talking to people who won't admit they're wrong or even think about the things they say.

This guy cheated in a video game and regrets it. He got banned, has to create a new account to play the game again and got a red text on his profile. Yes, no one likes cheater but this guy cheated years ago, got punished and regrets it. So what? Doesn't give anyone the right to treat him like human garbage. But hey, you guys are perfect and never did anything wrong in life, huh?

If you guys actually compare cheating in a video game with killing someone in real life and justify other peoples behavior towards him, my lord, you guys have to get out more. There are more important things in life than treating someone like ♥♥♥♥ who admitted his mistake.
Sexy Salesman 20/fev./2021 às 16:15
In the wild west people who got caught cheating were simply shot, those were the good old days

The things you have mentioned have nothing to do with the subject at hand. Of course you will not trust a convicted murderer with gun, only someone stupid would. This is about people with VAC bans being treated like ♥♥♥♥, just like kinda you do.

Keep doing it, but know that you are doing wrong. Now may i ask you to unsubscribe from this discussion? Thank you.

Someone with a VAC ban was caught cheating and breaking the rules. Same as a criminal who was caught breaking the laws. It's called an analogy and its actually a good one to showcase your problem.

Once you've been caught breaking the rules once no amount of promising is ever going to make people believe you won't do it again.

Also again you haven't yet shown anywhere that people with VAC bans are being treated like garbage, in fact the only one treating people poorly is you.

Also, no I won't unsubscribe from this public discussion because my words hit to close to home and unnerve you apparently.

You cheated for no other reason then you wanted to annoy and interfere with other people. Your going to pay the penalty for it, but if anyone is truly treating you like "garbage" then your gonna have to provide examples as that would be against the Steam rules.

Not trusting a former cheater isn't treating someone like garbage.
well Brian guess you were caught breaking the rules.and not the first time either.

i should note for posterities sake that the irony is that brian is at this very moment himself banned for bad behavior.

You really want to tthrow those stones? You're nott even in so much a gklass house as you are in a entt of wet tissue paper.

As for the subject matter. Its a simple fact that by tthe time they've accrued enough evidence to warrant a VAC ban yeah you got caught doing a cheat and players don' like cheaters.

Considering the Steam forums are slowly turning into Resetera, some might just see it as a badge, really.
An absurd amount of people who get banned or suspended from social media or online forums these days tend to be the people who post stuff that's actually worth reading.

And let's not forget that being banned for cheating is objectively bad, while, for example, being banned for telling a guy that he is delusional if he believes the EU needs the UK more than UK needs the EU after said guy derailed a thread, as he usually does, and made it about Brexit, well... One might argue that some mods have a bone to pick. Which, in my opinion was blatantly clear when the guy who is famous for derailing threads got a 1 day ban, while I got 4. And the mod who did it even had the gall to write he had no idea how that thread became about Brexit...

Just recently I got banned from the Mass Effect Legendary Edition forums for calling a bunch of SJWs clowns.... After they called me scum, troll, virgin and told me to go f***k myself. I was the only one banned.

In my opinion, if the store doesn't need curation, neither do the forums. People have the ability to block each other if they want already. We don't need people dictating what we can or cannot say based on vague rules they can interpret as they see fit.

heh almost 7 years ago, yet i have to live with the curse of VAC, i did cheat, but it would be nice after some years maybe they just could just like hide the ban from public or something, People change after all.

You ... realize that the ban is no longer visible to casual view after 7 years right?

And also: 7 years is a stupidly long time to not figure out how to just make a new account.
Leonardo Da Pinchi 20/fev./2021 às 19:05
I've no empathy for people who intentionally go out of their way to ruin games for others, as it shows towards their own moral character.

It's also been pretty evident, cheaters USUALLY don't change, which is why bans are permanent now. Because they'd just go back to cheating once unbanned.

I have no respect for cheaters
I have no respect for VAC accounts

Cry me a river but the big red VAC on your account is all i need to know about you that you are a cheater and not to be trusted.

because people decided the system is flawless and you can never get unjustly banned, so they assume the absolute worst of you when you do get banned.

I had a game recently decide that process monitor, a bit more in depth one that allows me to find what program is calling up a .wav, was a cheat tool at the kernel level...

as far as i'm concerned, remove ALL anti cheat and give us private servers, if someone cheats they get banned, move on, nothing is more frustrating when someone cheats in a match made game because there is no dealing with it,
