Does Steam have a Chinese version? Steam墙版上线了?
I'm a Chinese player, my email address is a Chinese QQ email. After I created this steam account my QQ(Chinese social media) account got banned for reasons I don't know. The Tencent(QQ) company collected my facial photos and made me sign a promise, sort of "you will obey the law of China...Never speak anything reactionary...You will never do that again in the future...", then some warnings.
But the thing is I didn't even post or tweet anything about CCP via Chinese social media, I only linked this Chinese QQ account to Steam service. Sure I mocked our glorious ruling party in my user name, but that's not the reason the government could subjugate my rights. That would be so scary!!!
Did you guys send Chinese user information to Chinese government or its cooperative companies?
Steam中国现在是中国国内的公司进行运营,所有数据由中国政府及合作公司进行监管吗?

This is a user forum; you’re unlikely to get a response from Valve here. :messagebottle:

Yeah, I know, copied this from steam support ticket. I just want to know is there anybody had the same problem. News say Steam China special version would be online in May 2021,all data will be managed by Chinese officials.
Yes there is a version avaible only for China, a very limited one, and i suggest you don`t engage your government, they are going to punish you.

Iam sorry, but its like it is.

Your government can and will do what they wish to since they have that ability.

steamchina dot com
They do share user data from that with the Chinese Government otherwise they'd be banned.

Check your HTTPS certificate when you are in this forum. If it doesn't say "Issued to: Valve Corp [US]" then your connection has been compromised. You can go to https://www.grc.com/fingerprints.htm to verify what the correct SSL certificate should be for steamcommunity.com
我在Steam 中国出来几年前就换成Outlook而不是QQ,但是我的QQ账号好像是好的,我从来都没用过。

Looks like someone's social credit score is going down.

You say that you linked your account to this social media platform. There's your answer then. You shared that information yourself. China is not known for freedom of speech and they don't have a great track record on human rights to put it mildly.
