Anyone know about valve index to uk?

I have a status that isn't on the list of statuses they inform you about. My current status is "shipping soon" what doesn't mean much. is this a valve 'soon' or what? It's been on this for about 5 days now.

Long story short, Brexit and covid are the root cause.

Brexit has caused all sorts delays with items shipping from Europe into the UK (it's not unique to the Index). Covid restrictions on top of that cause further delays.

Hopefully Valve have figured out a way around this problem since the first reports began rolling in. If you do end up paying double duty, you will be able to claim half of it back directly from HMRC... but probably not the Royal Mail handling fee.

No. It's "possible" it can happen "by mistake" but no, you should not be getting any further fees.
All costs are included in the price. Steam operates in the UK and the only TAX you should be paying is included in the purchase price of the Index.

Like I said, it's not an issue that is unique to Valve at the moment but yaay Brexit!

No, you pay for the Index and that's it. There's no hidden costs or extra fees. If there was, this would be included in the original price.

You may be waiting a while though - some users were for 4 months last year but supply chains have grown and improved. Just keep waiting.

No, you pay for the Index and that's it. There's no hidden costs or extra fees. If there was, this would be included in the original price.

yeah just gonna be said if i wait 4 months and apple or something bring out that is the new top of the line, since it says shippings soon i assume it's ready they are just finding it hard getting it in to the uk

I'm surprised they're still taking orders to ship to the UK. They only ship to the US and countries in the EU, and they're not even including counties which are not in the EU but are in the single market, like Norway.

Them still taking orders to ship to the UK, which is now not even in the single market, is a big anomaly.

Nobody knows as of now. They shouldn't and probably wont but it depends on the border red tape and their shipping priorities. Pretty significant oversight that they haven't updated or clarified their FAQ on this but then again Valve's communication has always been terrible.

You can always submit a ticket to Support to see if they can provide clarification.
