They are all social media features. Facebook is a social media where you can share artwork connect with other people request other users to be your friends on the platform, use live chat with them and you can have group forums discussions.
Twitter is essentially a public forum with a very limited character set. An internet forum is a form of social media as we understand the term today.
That doesn't mean it isn't silly to complain about social media features and say that they are useless to you while using one of the most prominent features of the social media platform.
Besides, Friends list/Chat is more prominent anyway.
But, perhaps more importantly, what even is the value of this? Pointing out someone's supposed hypocrisy in order to accomplish...what?
Frankly, the forum is actually one of the least gamified parts of Steam's social media features, while -- as OP pointed out -- Steam has gamified a bunch of other aspects: profile level, badges/trading cards, and sales event activities. The forum's only gamification so far is what used to be "make a post" and has since been replaced by "do a search".
What is the value of arguing this with me specifically? What does it accomplish for you?
I wasn't referring to the OP in that post you quoted.
Many people come to Steam just to play games, yet are exposed to the social aspects of the platform.
It's one thing to complain about the platform you are on. It's completely another to say that absolutely every social aspect of the platform is useless to you. Well it's not entirely useless if you keep posting on the platform now is it?
You can say that wellfare is completely useless while relying on wellfare checks to feed yourself, doesn't mean it's not a ridiculous statement.
