The price of most indie games for Steam Australia is absurd
You arent getting $30 off me, unless you are valheim.

Is this really the ideal price point/sweet spot for sales in Australia? Most of the games i see listed at $30 i would spend $10-$15 on. A prime example of this is "Mr Prepper" a neat little game that i might purchase if it wasn't for the ridiculous price they want.

Now this isnt actually a problem for me because i know what torrents are and where to get them, but i just thought id see what others think about general game prices for Steam AU.

30 AUD is 23 USD which is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cheap. A games cost 60 USD nowadays (which I personally consider way too expensive) with 30 USD being the default for indie titles nowadays. Even if you're talking USD, 30 USD is still an absolutely standard price.

Buy games on sales, don't pirate them.

Either way, this victimization of yours (painting Aussies as the poor victims overpaying for games) doesn't hold, (almost) everybody else pays the roughly same.

Game devs can choose the prices for their games, there no rules, nor law that they should do what you think what the game should be worth.

Also there thing called sale... It's when game devs do discount for their game's, meaning game price goes lower for time period, if you haven't figured that out yet.
Ask the game devs/publishers. They set the prices.

so youd rather torrent and not support the devs than spending a measley $30 valheim isnt even that good
You also need to remember the price differences in Australia is outside of the devs hands as they have to place it on equal footing with the rest of the world and economies in parts of the worlds is outside of their control.

And Australia's price includes VAT, which is 10%, after removing VAT that makes it $20.82 USD for the indie game. Him saying $10 to $15, after removing the VAT, is $6.94 to 10.41 USD... holy carp that is a super low price.

What does he think, that Australia is some kind of poor third world country?:steamfacepalm:
60 has been the standard for a long time for games. as people mentioned wait for a sale. some drop big time.

I mean.. i specifically said indie games. $60 is most definitely not the standard price for an indie game.

He is talking about indie games. Indie games at one time was very cheap to buy.

Certain people such has Sergey Galyonkin (SteamSpy). Who now work at Epic Game Store has said they should increase the price.
