If Valve is creating mobile games, why wouldn't they publish them on the Play Store?
The major question would be, why would Valve take that effort?
Also, Steam likes to have one license for all platforms (Windows, MacOS and Linux, if available). I don't even know whether publishers are allowed to sell Windows and MacOS versions separately, for example.
For mobile, this would have to go -- I'm pretty sure no mobile game publisher wants to sell combined licenses.
-What % cut down apple store and Google play store take?
-They are just store fronts right?
-Having mobile games sold on Steam means Steam community hub/forums/guides/achievements.
-I don't know the design past that though as I only thought of it for a few minutes. Can Steam mobile games enable Steam's matchmaking service? How does all that work? Would we see cross-platform merging player bases for coop games, etc.
I personally can't play phone games, even legit ones like Stardew or KotOR, it's not relaxing to me
-How would it affect you? Assuming its handled similar to how VR is handled in terms of the store front.
Mobile "games" are thinly veiled gambling simulators.
Isn't that what Epic Games is trying to accomplish by suing Apple & Google. So Epic Games can add their store?. If the lawsuit is in Epic favor then anyone be it Steam can bring their stores to mobile.
