Library game count different from account
so recently i activated a few games through retail (cd key), it registered on my library and the game count increases. but when i checked my profile, the number of games owned does not change. is it because the cd key that i activated is not a legit game and does not meet the requirement to be detected or there is a specific problem? since i want to get the game colector badge. thankyou in advance

Do you have any free to plau game on you y library?

Free to play gamea dont change the game count on profile.
Does family sharing alter your games count?
Also DLC might not count.

There's a few different reasons why that could be the case, including the game not yet having achieved a set amount of sales to "count", the game having been delisted from Steam, a different game already on your games list being delisted from Steam, or your profile count just not updating yet (in my experience sometimes restarting the client will rejigger it, other times I have to actually buy something else or activate another key before my profile works properly -- including features like trading card drops and appearing properly as owned on the store page).

family shared games are treated the same way as free games, steam shows that uplayed then evne you achievments, but it don't list as you "owned game count"

i have tried restarting steam, logging in and out, etc. but the first two reasons might be the answer. since i bought these cd keys randomly

List a couple. This is how we figure it out.

Have the games "profile features limited" or "Steam is learning about this game" on the store page?

Pretty much this.

If you are getting games from places like DIG or Indie Gala, it is always a risk of them being profile limited or "Steam is still leaning...". They will not count toward your profile game count at all for things like your collector showcase or the number as it appears on right side of your profile. There are also the cases where some games may be banned too. You can still access and see all of these games in your library, but they will just not count for collector's purposes.

However oddly enough while these do not count to your collector's showcase, when you click on the games link in your profile the profile limited and steam is still learning game, as well as F2P, will show up in your publicly viewable collection. This is why you may see on some sites that collect data of Steam users, like steamladder for example, showing you as having a much higher count of games than shown on your profile. Banned games however will not show up even there.

I got a couple hundred games "missing" from my profile according to the counter. Since any game I should ever want to play is still in my library, I don't see any problem.
