I found that one person who cares
We obviously understand the real incentive is free games and you willing overlooking Epic bribing developers and customers to use their platform.
By the way is that cut for developers translated into savings for us the customers as promised by "Timmy"? NO - games are the same prices on Epic as Steam.
Note: Do not forget to come back to Steam when those Epic exclusives get here as they are half price on release and had all those bugs fixes etc during the exclusivity period or pay for them full price on Epic and wait for the bug fixes.
Oh of course not. There are so many people who are 'boycotting steam' but keep buying games on steam and using the community features, etc. see they dont actually want the 'boycott' part of steam to actually be impactful in any way. If their boycott actually inconvenienced them in any way possible that would not fly with them. They just have this incredible delusion that not purchasing directly on team, but using literally everything else about the service means they have 'won'.
Well, I can understand wanting a smaller developer to do well and, if I knew one whose stuff I cared about was in a make-or-break situation, I’d at least care (there’s a reason Dwarf Fortress is top-of-wishlist despite being available free-for-download since forever on the dev’s site).
But why anyone thinks LANCB-esque posts are notable is more what consternates me.
Since epic, i do the same.
Did i break something?
Totally agree especially when boycott is "to refuse to buy a product or take part in an activity as a way of expressing strong disapproval".
My personal favourite is "avoid Steam, buy DRM free" and post it on the Steam forums.
If the games are available on other storefronts, that's ok of course to buy there. But I would assume people already would buy where it's cheapest.
That said, considering that OP talks about an Epic account, it's not the small time indie devs they care about.
My heeeeeeeart!
