Keep getting 'xbox driver installation' promp when loading steam.

I have an xbox one controller, but all the ticks in steams controller settings are off, i find i get the best compatibilty across the board that way.

But every time i load up steam i get the above message with the following text,
'Driver successfully updated and will be active after you restart your computer'

I used to only get that if i toggled the tick for the xbox one controller setting, and extensions on and off in the controller settings. But now its happening every time i restart the PC/load steam. And its a bit annoying, anyone else getting this/knows how to stop it?

I feel you, Vargas! Got the exact same problem. Don't know how to fix it.

Maybe it works this way:
Go to your settings:
> Controller
> click on: "No notification when the controller is enabled"

The only pop up I have seen is the one saying to use big picture mode. Which can be stopped by ticking the do not show again box. Xbox 360 controller

I actually managed to fix it. Had to re-enable xbox box controller to on. And then restart the PC. And then it stopped popping up and i turned the tick back to off.

Try actually restarting instead of shutting down your computer.
If FastBoot is enabled in Windows a shutdown is not the same as a clean reboot.

Yeah, just actually did it when checking the Settings->Controller-> General Controller Settings "big picture"-looking menu and un-enabled and re-enabled the Xbox Configuration Support option and it asked to restart the system. The pop-up message disappeared after that.

This is why don't mess with anything insteam that deals with a controller. I let windows do it all. I plug in my wireless usb stick and then just turn on my xbox series x controller and it just works for all my games no messing with any controller settings in steam it just works. I just wish steam and microsoft fixes the bug where you can't use the screenshot button on the controller to take a screenshot.
