are your video card drivers upto date...
Please read again what I wrote, because it is not a simple to observe issue of the client:
Videos are working fine in news, working fine in forums.
Videos are NOT working fine in news posted in activity feed, UNDER green game-start button.
To be certain I just played videos in the activity in the section you described; played 3 videos at the same time, had no issues either.
Whatever you have GPU Acceleration set to in Settings > Interface, try the opposite and see if this functions normally.
Didn't help. Videos in activity feed stutter.
Same videos in video section or in news section run perfectly.
I just noticed, that the issue happens actually only on "Hydroneer" game page feed...all other game page feeds work without issues.
confusing
so again... have you upgraded to the latest video card drivers as well
i had year old drivers upgraded to newer drivers a few months ago
that caused stutter problems in game... until i upgraded to the latest
most current drivers... its a video playback problem regardless
of where it happens...
no, never said it, I meant the recent steam client update.
And it turns out like playback has problems only on one game page. Don't ask me why.
ok.. well i am just here to ask are you using the most upto date video drivers...
coz that has solved problems for me...
good luck
There was one game, some time ago, that embedded a video in their News Announcement, and it was both *tiny* and did not run smoothly, stopping and starting. I got in touch with them on social media and showed them what I was seeing, and it turned out there was an issue with the video they uploaded, and the way a new dev-in-training had embedded the video. It wasn't a Steam thing, it was an error or errors on their end. They fixed it on their end and re-published the News Announcement and it worked as expected the second time (and that new dev learned a whole lot about creating News Announcements with embedded videos, lol).
I avoid using it for other reasons -- for security (using my own browser helps me see through phishing sites) and convenience (fetching browsing history to find Steam forum threads, as well as tabbed browsing and other QOL features), but justifies the practice.
