EDIT Oh and I forgot, posting your username for all to see is **** **** security. No wonder your account got hijacked when you can't keep information private
Your account is as safe in daily use
with or without guard.
There is no added protection that could prevent account stealing if the cause was username and password.
Guard code is just another password.
You mean protection like your Steam account has? If you give that information away they could have access just like any other account.
Steam guard on your tablet is added security but it does NOT mean your account can not be compromised. If you enter you data including your guard code on a phishing site they'd have access. Just like giving a stranger your address and house keys. That stranger can visit and steal from your home.
You old account was safe until you gave security details away/
Stop logging on dodgy sites. DO NOT follow random links. Not even if they come from friends as hijackers spam an accounts friends as a means to get more victims.
Can use sites online to check if a site is trustworthy...I use scamadviser.com but there are others. That doesn't apply just to Steam. Use it to check any unknown site you will enter security details on.
As for Steam if you insist on using third party sites do it the safe way.
1. Open your web browser
2. Visit the Official Steam website
3. Login
4. Visit third party site
5. Click the one click login.....Just a click nothing to enter. If you are asked to enter your username, password and Steam Guard code it's a phishing site. Do not use.
Thanks for understanding!
1. I can't know all that.
2. Re-iterating stuff is not a bad thing. If you know it fine. If not it's helpful
3. Notice the last part of what I wrote? No one in this thread mentioned it. Thus mean informing you is me trying to help.
My god, stop with the grumpy you know it all attitude. You're here for help. Please listen to me. IF you now know all the help then by all means ignore it. I'm not a mind reader! I DO NOT know whats in your head. I DO NOT KNOW what your brother has said.
Thanks for your comment. I'll try to remember to not offer anything to you in the future. hate for you to know it all besides asking for help...........
