Adding World War Z to Steam as None Game, Controller Issue
Hi guys i have this issue with this game the controller does not work if i run it from steam as a none steam game, I have over the years purchased many games on multiple platforms such as GOG, Origin, Epic, Uplay ect... and since i use steam the most i decided to add all my games into one client as none steam games. It looks more neater and more organised rather then opening multiple clients, but the issue is World War Z, i added the game as a none steam game and it launches but the controller does not work at all, the game refuses to even recognise the controller as connected. But if i run Epic Store natively and then launch the game the controller works fine. So what I did was i added Epic store to steam as a none steam game, ♥♥♥♥ store opens through steam and when i open world war z again the controller does not work but natively opening the game through epic it works fine. Other games from epic do not have this issue.

Disable Steam's input mapper & restart Steam. It's enabled by default but as is with pretty much all of software, it can get in the way so it should be off unless needed.

Thanks for the partial help, disabling steam overlay solved the issue

sometimes OP, in your case its not good but i keep everything on steam so i get the benefit and support of the games i avoided other platforms and just waited for steam releases - better for my steam controller with official supported games.

Well incase u haven't noticed world war z is a epic exclusive if u ever make the game and port it over to steam give me a hola, otherwise if i want to play that game i have to buy it on that platform.

I sorted the issue to someone gave
me a partial solution, If someone has this issue and stumbles across this, disable steam overlay on the game that has the issue since the steam overlay grabs basic controller settings, when u disable overlay it works fine as ur using native controller settings :)

yup i know its a exclusive so was red dead 2, borderlands 3, metro exodus and more! came to steam after the 6-12 months. its just how long can you personally wait for do you want it right away? or do what i did and wait when games come to steam ans get the full benefits and official support for steam games.

If u know its a exclusive that u should also know world war z came out in 2013 and if u care to see its 2021 its been 8 years and it is not on the steam store.

Take care

anything is possible. battlefield 3-4-5 were origin exclusives from 2011 and came to steam in 2020.
