Running Steam on a Windows 10 bit-locker encrypted drive
Hello --

I know there have been discussions about this in previous posts, but with the latest version of Steam and Windows 10 being available in 2020 I thought it would be a good idea to broach this topic again:

Can I run a Steam, and by extension a given game, on a system that has Windows 10 Professional with BitLocker encryption enabled on the hard drive. The system utilizes a solid state drive that contains the operating system, and has sixteen, 16, gigabytes of RAM.

What prevented you from doing that before? What has changed with updates and availability and 2020 that changes things?

Steam will work just like any other software as it doesn't even see/notice the drive is encrypted.
Keep in mind you will lose a tiny bit of performance when using an encrypted drive.

Hello. --

Thank-you for your replies. What prevented my doing the encryption previously was my system at the time having a platter-based as opposed to a solid state hard drive. Also, newer builds of Windows generally improve upon previous capabilities that were present in the installation although that is not a constant.

HDDs can be encrypted as well.
Bitlocker ain't anything new either.

That is true. However I thought I should confirm my "i's" were dotted, and my "t's" were crossed.
