Just end my life.
S.x.
I've actually not paying attention to the leveling system for a long time.
I'm trying to do a little comparison.
that would actually also give you more points, crazy right?
Chill with the assumptions.
Who tf says I'm on the Argentinian store?
How the hell did that brain of your reach this conclusion?
I was talking about the price comparison to other items on points shop.
Oh mah Gawd!
Your post is so random and out of place, I can't even tell wtf was going on your mind.
Who hurt you?
I have 60,000 points. Giving awards to friends, unlocking new showcases and it's all used up.
However, the concept is to encourage writing of guides, reviews and posting helpful things. People can then award you points.
Just 100 points from 1 player will meant 100,000 points from 100 players. And getting 100 awards shouldn't be difficult if the writeups are really helpful or entertaining.
It can also be an overtime thing and not overnight. Maybe 2021 will have new and better games, and we get to unlock something with $20.
My problem (if I could really call it that) isn't getting the points.
It's just that some showcase upgrades seem too expensive for what they provide.
Something like game collector showcase upgrade seems well worth the purchase as it adds 4 slots to the showcase.
It is however a little weird that the favorite game showcase is 6k points, despite providing 1 tiny slot.
What I'm saying is I think they need to review the prices and set each one individually based on the value of upgrade.
Cuz as it is, some of them are just not worth the price.
You'll have games collectors crying foul when the purchase price of a game meant next to nothing when it comes to overall count when levelling (not too far in 1 game just equals 1 xp).
Say your level 60 and you need 700XP for each level.
Say cards cost five cents and ten cards for a badge.
So that's 50c for each badge.
$3.50 for each level.
And $35 for every ten levels.
So it costs roughly twice as much at level 60 to upgrade 10 levels by points as by badges.
HOWEVER ...
Pay for the games and the points are freebies.
Pay for the badge and you are paying for is Steam level.
And Steam level alone ... the people who REALLY compete are somehow putting thousands of dollars into it. For most average users there's little difference between level 10, level 100. and level 1,000.
S.x.
Well I mean there's no arguing that points are just an extra thing we'll be getting with the purchases anyway.
Besides, I don't even know which showcase upgrades come from which levels.
All in all, I do appreciate being abe to get these upgrades directly now.
Still, the pricing on some of them just seems weird.
It's kinda like they just randomly took a batch of upgrades and slapped the same price tag on all of them.
But yeah, this discussion did make me see the point (pun intended I guess) more clearly.
At least in the case of comparing upgrades with cosmetics.
But if you buy something for yourself you get steam points as a bonus for your purchases and they add up quickly.
Also there is no indication whatsoever of this happening...
And yeah, that guy just hopped in with that bs outta nowhere.
I literally had to pause there and open google to figure out what he was talking about, which is why it pissed me off so much that I had to go off topic to shut down a troll.
Man I can't stand trolls, especially in the middle of a calm discussion.
Steam basically through this shop points cut steam members out of the loop while ensuring they sell games. The points system is about what steam want, not you.
